Sonia visits people injured in Meerut fire tragedy

Meerut, Apr 11: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today visited the local hospitals here to meet the injured of the fire tragedy which killed over 60 people yesterday.

Ms Gandhi came here along with Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal and inquired about the health of the injured. They also met relatives of the affected people.

Over 60 people were burnt to death and more than 119 others injured in a major fire that broke out at a trade fair in the city.

Meanwhile, people here said they will not celebrate Mahavir Jayanti in view of the tragedy.
