Kerala: Woman dies of snake bite while breastfeeding infant

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 14: In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old woman died after being bitten by a snake while breastfeeding her three-month old daughter at home, police said.

Neethu, a government staff nurse, hailing from Vembayam near here, was bitten by a King cobra last evening, police said.

Family members, hearing her scream, killed the snake after catching it.

Though she was rushed to the Medical College hospital, she died yesterday, police said.

She is survived by husband and 9-year-old son.
