Who Will Win Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha Seat? Here Is Prakash Raj's Prediction

The Thiruvananthapuram election has become a focal point in this Lok Sabha polls, attracting significant attention. Currently represented by its three-time MP, Shashi Tharoor, who holds the record for the longest-serving MP from the constituency.

The seat has traditionally been retained due to Tharoor's personal charisma, which often surpasses the support of his party's base. Many had felt that it would be a cakewalk for Tharoor again, but the dynamics shifted when the BJP fielded Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar as a high-profile candidate, who is known for his proactive approach and track record of delivering results.

So, who will win?

While there have been mixed responses over who will win the election, actor Prakash Raj feels that Tharoor will emerge victorious for the third time.

"I find this (Thiruvananthapuram) constituency has received a lot from Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. It is going to be his term again. I am here to just stand by him, not because he is a great friend of mine, but because he has given me for the last decade hope, happiness and joy that I have a voice with such a representative of the country," ANI quoted Prakash Raj as saying.

The multilingual actor, who has campaigned for the Congress leader, stated that Tharoor is "the best-spoken Malayali and a statesman".

Communist Party of India (Marxist) has fielded Panniyan Ravindran. About his candidate, Raj said, "I know the Left candidate (CPI leader Pannyan Raveendran). He is a nice person and a good politician. But I think the Left made a mistake by fielding a candidate against Tharoor."

Raj said that the Left should not have fielded a candidate in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency and that the split of votes might benefit the BJP.

Talking about Chandrashekhar, Prakash Raj, a native of Karnataka, claimed that the BJP leader failed to get even Rs 500 for the drought-affected people of Karnataka.

"It was the first time a state government had to move the Supreme Court against a central government for getting drought relief," Prakash Raj said.

For the last 18 years, Chandrashekhar has held a seat in the Rajya Sabha, completing two six-year terms as an independent aligned with the right-of-centre ideology from Karnataka. However, in 2018, he switched to the BJP, and in 2021, he was appointed as a junior minister for Electronics and Information Technology.
