Watch: SUV Rams KSRTC Bus In Kottarakkara, Rear Axle Detaches In Shocking Incident
In a shocking incident, the rear axle and wheels of a KSRTC bus detached after being struck by a speeding SUV in Kottarakkara in Kerala on Monday morning. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred around 7 a.m. at Pulamon, when the bus was en route from Kottarakkara to Punalur.
Eyewitnesses told The Times of India that the SUV, traveling from Punalur, lost control and and rammed into the rear of the bus, striking near its diesel tank. Despite the KSRTC driver's attempts to prevent the collision, the SUV hit with such force that the bus's rear axle, along with all four rear wheels, detached and landed a significant distance away.

Fortunately, the sudden detachment did not lead to further injuries, and both vehicles came to a halt shortly after the crash.
Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted but resumed after both vehicles were cleared from the road.

Several passengers on the bus, which was operating from the Kottarakkara depot, sustained minor injuries. The SUV, carrying medical students, also suffered extensive damage, particularly to its front and right sides. The students escaped with minor injuries.
On the other hand, the Kottarakkara police have started investigation the matter to determine its cause and assess the extent of the damage.

The CCTV footage of the collision, showing the SUV overspeeding and slamming into the bus, has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention to the incident.
