Who is Miraya Vadra?

Miraya, aged 22, attended Welham Girls' College in Dehradun and is reportedly undertaking an instructor-level diving course. She was previously seen with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Miraya cast her first vote in the May 2024 Lok Sabha elections. After voting in Delhi, she told news agency PTI, "It is hot here, but we get this chance every five years to directly effect a change and participate in democracy. So, everyone should come out and vote."

Miraya first came into the public eye in 2016 when she competed in a basketball championship with the Haryana Girls' team.

Who is Raihan Vadra?

The 24-year-old Raihan is the eldest son of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra. His social media profiles describe him as a "visual artist," specialising in road and wildlife photography.

Raihan has exhibited his work at several art events, including "The India Story" in Kolkata, and has held two solo exhibitions: the first, titled "Dark Perception," and the second, "Guess."

He also cast his vote in the 2024 general elections, telling PTI, "It is hot here, but we get this chance every five years to directly effect a change and participate in democracy. So, everyone should come out and vote."

Campaigning in Wayanad

The Wayanad Lok Sabha seat has traditionally been a Congress-led UDF stronghold, while the Chelakkara segment has long favoured the CPI(M)-led LDF. The by-election in Wayanad became necessary after Rahul Gandhi, who won seats from both Wayanad and Rae Bareli, decided to vacate the Wayanad seat.

At a campaign event on Monday, Priyanka said, "I am proud to say that I have seen the best of India here. I have seen the natural beauty, beauty of the spirit of brotherhood, of friendship amongst all the communities. I have seen enterprises, homestays here. I am being inspired. I will be proud to represent you in the Parliament if you give me the chance to. You are my sisters, and brother, and I will work hard, and will not let you miss me."
