A video doing rounds on social media throws light at her brave act. Roshni, who serves in the Rapid Response Team of the Paruthipalli Range Office in Thiruvananthapuram, responded to a call after a cobra was sighted in a house in Kattakkada.

Using scientific techniques and specialized equipment, she carefully captured the snake and released it safely back into the wild, according to a report in Mathrubhumi.
Roshni began her career as a Beat Forest Officer in 2017. In 2019, she underwent specialized training in snake handling provided by the forest department, which equipped her to safely manage reptiles like pythons, vipers, and cobras. Since then, she has been actively involved in rescuing snakes that often wander into human settlements.
The captured snakes are securely transported and released into their natural habitats. Officers like Roshni are provided with essential snake-catching gear, including a hook, PVC pipe, and a carrying bag. Driven by her passion for wildlife rescue, Roshni requested a transfer to the Rapid Response Team, which focuses on saving and rehabilitating wild animals.
Roshni is married to Sajith Kumar and is a mother of two. Notably, the snake-handling training conducted three years ago also included participation from local snake catchers. Today, the district has around ten trained individuals capable of safely rescuing snakes from residential areas.
