Kerala- 17 out of 19 ministers have criminal cases
Kochi, May 27: In the new Kerala assembly, 17 out of the 19 ministers who were sworn in have pending criminal cases against them. Out of this 3 have declared serious criminal cases pending against them.
The data provided by the Kerala Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms states that the percentage of ministers with pending criminal cases in the Kerala Assembly is 89.

Statistics:
Out of the 19 ministers, 5 are crorepatis. The average assets of the ministers is Rs 78.72 lakh the self sworn affidavits reveal. A K Balan is the richest minister with assets worth Rs 2.36 crore. A K Saseendran and Mathew Thomas with assets worth Rs 1 crore each are next on the list.
The ministers with the least assets are Thomas Isaac and E Chandrasekaran with assets worth Rs 18 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively. V S Sunilkumar with assets worth Rs 25 is third on this list.
A total of 2 ministers have declared their age between 40 and 50 years. 15 ministers are in the age group of 51 and 70 while 2 are above 70 years old. Only two out of the 19 ministers in the new assembly are women.
