Former Kerala DGP Siby Mathews to tell-all in his autobiography

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6: Siby Mathews, former Director General of Police, Kerala is all set to draft his autobiography.

Apart from penning down his experience and life as a police officer, Siby will be sharing the stories related to the cases in his autobiography.

At present Siby Mathews is the Chief Information Commissioner of Kerala.

Siby Mathews was the investigative officer of many major cases that created waves of controversy in Kerala. The ISRO spy case of 1994, Suryanelli rape case, Kalluvathukal hooch tragedy are some of them.

According to sources, Siby's will incorporate details of the infamous ISRO spy case.

The sensational case in which S. Nambi Narayanan, an Indian scientist and senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was falsely charged with espionage and arrested.

In 1996 CBI dismissed the charges against Narayanan. He was declared not guilty by the Supreme Court in 1998.

The CBI found the case had been fabricated, and that Mathews had ordered the arrest of the scientists without a thorough probe.

Later in a petition Narayanan stated that his arrest was part of US agenda. Siby in a counter affidavit denied the charge as 'false, incorrect, baseless and with oblique motive.

A Kerala-cadre IPS officer of 1977 batch,Siby Mathews will be stepping down from his post of Chief Information Commissioner in April 2016.
