Global Cloudflare Outage Hits Major Websites: X, Canva, ChatGPT, Spotify Down

A large scale technical issue in Cloudflare's infrastructure caused major websites to malfunction on Tuesday, leaving thousands of users unable to access popular online services. Platforms that depend on the company's network reported widespread service failure, triggering confusion and complaint spikes across multiple regions.

Cloudflare Confirms Technical Glitch and Begins Assessment

Cloudflare admitted that the disruption affected numerous clients and that both its Dashboard and API were experiencing operational failures. "Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing. We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly," said Cloudflare in a statement.

Later, the company informed that services had begun to return but not yet stabilised. "We are seeing services recover, but customers may continue to observe higher-than-normal error rates as we continue remediation efforts," Cloudflare stated.

Multiple Global Platforms Impacted

The outage caused trouble for several top tier digital services including OpenAI, Perplexity, ChatGPT, X and Gemini. Users attempting to visit affected platforms were met with internal server error notifications and were advised to try again after some time.

Spike in User Grievances and Error Reports

DownDetector recorded a notable surge in outage complaints, reaching its highest point at around 5:09 pm with more than 11,000 reported issues. Many users shared screenshots showing an "internal server error on Cloudflare's network" that asked them to "please try again in a few minutes."

The company continues to work on full restoration while consumers await stable access across all impacted platforms.
