Sources close to 9to5Mac reveal that the iPhone 16 Pro will support 4K video recording at up to 120fps. This is a significant improvement over the iPhone 15 Pro, which maxes out at 60fps. The increased frame rate allows for enhanced slow-motion effects at the highest resolution.

iPhone 16 Pro: Enhanced Video Capabilities

Apple plans to enable 4K ProRes video recording to external storage at 120fps on the iPhone 16 Pro. Users must ensure their external storage meets the required speed specifications, as these will likely be higher than current limits.

The report also mentions Apple's experiments with 8K video recording on the iPhone 16 Pro. While this feature would match Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra, it might be reserved for the iPhone 17 Pro, which is expected to have a higher-resolution zoom lens.

Touch-Sensitive Capture Button

Details about the new touch-sensitive capture button have emerged. This button will perform different actions based on how it is pressed or slid. A single press will open the camera app or a user-selected alternative. A gentle press focuses the camera, while a harder press takes a photo or starts recording.

This feature aligns with previous leaks and adds that sliding a finger across the button adjusts zoom or exposure. This makes adjustments quicker and easier without lifting your finger off the button.

All these features will be unveiled at Apple's "Glowtime" event on Monday, September 9, at 10 a.m. PT. The event will introduce four iPhone 16 models and at least two new Apple Watches. Additionally, more information about "Apple Intelligence," powered by the A18 Pro chip, will be shared.

"The new touch-sensitive capture button can reproduce different actions depending on how you press or slide it," states the report.

"Pressing once launches the built-in camera app or a user-selected alternative," it continues. "A gentle press focuses before a harder press takes a photo or starts recording."

The anticipation for Apple's upcoming event is high as fans eagerly await these new features and enhancements in their devices.
