J&K assembly polls: BJP leader goofs up, seeks votes for National Conference

Srinagar, Dec 4: BJP leader Ajat Shatru ended up making a major blooper during an election rally in the Valley. A former National Conference leader, Shatru had recently joined the BJP after the Modi wave took over the country.

However while addressing a rally here, Shatru urged his supporters to vote. But instead of asking them to vote for BJP he said: "Hal ka button dabao aur Modi ji ko kamyab banao (press the button of the plough and make Modiji vitorious)."

He soon realised his mistake and immediately corrected himself and said that vote for the Lotus and make Modiji victorius.

Plough is the symbol for NC, while lotus is the symbol of BJP.

The next phase of election in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on Dec 9 and the results of the elections will be announced on Dec 23.
