Why Is Internet Angry With BCCI Secretary Jay Shah?

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has come under attack from angry netizens for giving a rousing reception to Pakistani cricket players in Ahmedabad.

The Men in Green will take on the Indian team in a crucial ODI match in the ongoing World Cup 2023 on Saturday.

Gujarati girls welcomed Pakistani cricketers with dances to popular Bollywood songs. An extravagant display of balloons and flowers caught the attention of netizens.

This welcome has left many people angry who have targeted Jay Shah.

"Shouldn't Jay Shah step down as Secretary of "WOKE" BCCI with immediate effect BEFORE bringing MORE disrepute to image of HM. @AmitShah who is a hardcore Nationalist! There can't be more INSULT to Bharat than OUR girls dancing to welcome Pakistanis! Sorry! I strongly condemn!" one user said on X.

Another netizen stated, "Addressing a serious concern here. The recent events have raised questions about the image of BCCI and the HM @AmitShah. A matter that needs thoughtful consideration. @JayShah," second netizen said.

Criticising the grand reception given to the Pakistan players, third user stated, "Pathetic! This is pure mockery of the sacrifices of our soldiers... they have come to play so let them play and leave; why the extravagant welcome? What message are we trying to send here? 😡 We have much to learn about unity and patriotism from the people of Israel."

According to media reports, the match will begin with musical extravaganza at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Reportedly, iconic Bollywood figure Amitabh Bachchan, legendary actor Rajinikanth, and cricket's Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, who hold golden tickets for the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, are expected to grace the high-voltage.

This has also not gone well with a section of netizens.
