Kohli's Form Not a Worry for India Ahead of Super Eight: Rathour
India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, expressed unwavering confidence in Virat Kohli's form ahead of the Super Eight stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Despite Kohli's recent low scores of 1, 4, and 0 against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA, Rathour highlighted Kohli's exceptional performance in the nets and his evident determination to excel in upcoming matches. Rathour's comments came during a post-match media conference after the game against Canada was washed out.

"No concern at all," Rathour reiterated when asked about Kohli's performance. He emphasized that a few dismissals do not overshadow Kohli's overall batting prowess, especially following his successful stint in the IPL where he emerged as the highest run-scorer. Rathour is optimistic about Kohli's contribution to India's campaign in the crucial stages of the tournament.
The discussion also touched upon India's strategy regarding the inclusion of four all-rounders in the team, including Shivam Dube and Axar Patel. Rathour emphasized the importance of adaptability to conditions rather than sticking to a rigid team composition. He acknowledged that game time in Florida prior to the Super Eights would have been beneficial but stressed readiness to face any conditions.
Rathour also addressed concerns about the tight schedule of the Super Eight matches and the lack of ideal preparation time. He assured that the team is accustomed to such schedules and is prepared to perform well. Additionally, Rathour called for clarity from the ICC regarding ground coverage issues that led to the washout against Canada, suggesting that better preparation could have allowed play.
The batting coach concluded by discussing the variety of pitches encountered so far and India's readiness to tackle different conditions. With a balanced squad boasting four spin options and several fast bowlers, Rathour expressed confidence in India's ability to excel on any surface presented during the tournament.
As India gears up for the Super Eight stage, all eyes will be on Kohli and his ability to bounce back from his recent scores. With Rathour's backing and Kohli's proven track record, fans remain hopeful for standout performances that could steer India towards victory in the T20 World Cup.
