Learning from Last Season

Reflecting on the 2023 campaign, Mandhana acknowledged that the previous season taught them valuable lessons. She highlighted their impressive eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the final, a feat that eluded the RCB men's team for over 16 years. Mandhana also took the opportunity to thank the team's loyal fanbase for their unwavering support.

Management's Role in Success

Mandhana emphasized the significance of the management's support during the post-match presentation. She stated, "Last year taught us a lot of things, as a player, as a captain, and as a team. The management, the way they backed me during the review after the season...they have been through a lot, and a big thumbs up to them." She further expressed her pride in the team's accomplishments, acknowledging the ups and downs they faced throughout the tournament.

Spinners Shine for RCB

The spin duo of Shreyanka Patil (4/12) and Sophie Molineux (3/20) played a pivotal role in restricting Delhi Capitals to a modest total of 113. In response, RCB's batting lineup, led by Mandhana (31), Sophie Devine (32), and Elysse Perry (35 not out), guided the team to victory with three balls to spare.

Special Win for RCB

Mandhana expressed her delight in securing the title for the RCB franchise, acknowledging the significance of this achievement. She stated, "For them (management) to have this trophy, it is amazing for them. I am not the only one who has won the trophy, the team has won. For RCB as a franchise to win, it is really, really special." She ranked this triumph among the top five moments of her career, emphasizing the importance of the team's loyal fanbase in their success.

Delhi Capitals Rue Missed Opportunity

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning expressed disappointment over their inability to replicate their runners-up finish from the inaugural WPL season. She acknowledged that her team was outplayed on the day and congratulated RCB for their superior performance. Lanning also reflected on their batting collapse, attributing it to the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket.

RCB's triumph in the Women's Premier League is a testament to the team's resilience and the unwavering support of their management and fans. While Delhi Capitals will be disappointed with the outcome, they can take pride in their overall efforts throughout the tournament. The WPL has undoubtedly elevated women's cricket in India, showcasing the immense talent and competitiveness of the players involved.
