Inter Milan Marks 20th Serie A Title with Joyous Open-Air Bus Parade

Thousands of Inter Milan supporters gathered on the streets this Sunday, witnessing the team's victory parade from the iconic San Siro stadium to the city's cathedral, marking their 20th Italian league title triumph. The celebration was sparked by a decisive 2-0 victory against Torino at home, a win that came on the heels of a derby triumph against AC Milan, sealing the title in a memorable fashion. The joyous scenes saw Inter players lifting coach Simone Inzaghi into the air, initiating the festivities.

Hakan Calhanoglu emerged as the hero of the day, netting two crucial goals in the second half, propelling Inter to a commanding 19-point lead over their closest rivals, Milan. This significant gap was further underscored by Milan's inability to score against Juventus, resulting in a 0-0 draw that left them in second place.

In other Serie A action, Roma's Tammy Abraham made headlines by scoring his first goal following a lengthy absence due to injury. His goal secured a 2-2 draw for fifth-place Roma against defending champions Napoli. Despite this, Roma's lead over sixth-place Atalanta was narrowed to just two points after Atalanta's victory over Empoli.

Bologna, sitting in fourth place, salvaged a point against Udinese thanks to a late goal from Alexis Saelemaekers. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Udinese still facing relegation threats. For Roma, Paulo Dybala initially put the team ahead with a penalty, but Napoli equalized through Mathias Olivera's deflected shot. Napoli then took the lead with Victor Osimhen converting a penalty, only for Abraham to level the scores with a header, confirmed after a VAR review.

Roma's Evan Ndicka played a pivotal role in Abraham's goal, assisting with a header from Dybala's corner kick. This came after Ndicka himself had recovered from a collapsed lung earlier in the month. Abraham's return to scoring form is particularly noteworthy given his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee at the end of last season.

Looking ahead, Serie A teams are set to make their mark on European competitions as well. Roma is scheduled to host Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of the Europa League semifinals on Thursday, while Atalanta will face Marseille away.

The Italian league continues to offer thrilling football action week in and week out, with teams battling for supremacy both domestically and on the European stage. As Inter Milan celebrates its latest title, other clubs remain focused on securing their positions and making an impact in upcoming European fixtures.
