Who Is Saurabh Netravalkar? Indian-Origin Ranji Cricketer Who Stunned Pakistan In T20 Clash
In one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, the USA stunned Pakistan in a Group A clash on Thursday night. A remarkable Super Over performance by Mumbai-born Saurabh Netravalkar of the USA left the Babar Azam-led Pakistan team in shock.
Tasked with defending 18 runs in the one-over eliminator in Dallas after the scores were tied in the 40-over game, Netravalkar defied the odds. He maintained his composure and bowled brilliantly, conceding just 13 runs to secure a famous victory for the USA.

As Netravalkar pulled off a famous win, he became a hot topic of debate on social media.
Who is he?
India is a land of 140+ crore citizens and cricket is considered as a religion in the country. It is not surprising to see most children born in the nation aspire to play cricket for India.
But finding a place in the Indian team remains a dream for many due to huge competition. And Saurabh Netravalkar is one of those boys who left India to play cricket in the other country.
Saurabh Netravalkar was born on October 16, 1991. He played for the Indian U19 team in the 2010 World Cup.
He has also played a Ranji Trophy match for Mumbai and was a former teammate of senior Indian stars KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, and Sandeep Sharma.
However, the intense competition in India limited his opportunities to further develop his talent. After not making inroads into the Indian team, he left to the United States in 2015, and nearly nine years later, he made history in the sport he had always aspired to excel in.
Known for his ability to generate pace and bounce from any surface, the left-arm pacer showcased these skills against Pakistan on Thursday.
Back in 2010, Netravalkar took the field for India in the U19 World Cup, only to taste bitter defeat at the hands of a youthful Pakistan side led by Babar. The loss stung deeply. Skip ahead 14 years, and Netravalkar, now an integral part of the USA team, orchestrated a remarkable reversal of fortunes at the 2024 T20 World Cup. His stellar display in the Super Over propelled his team to a breathtaking victory over Pakistan, reshaping the storyline of their past clash.
Netravalkar wasn't just a gifted cricketer; he also excelled as a brilliant engineer, balancing both his sporting pursuits and his role as a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle. Despite his primary focus on coding for the organization, his passion for cricket made the balancing act quite challenging.
Nevertheless, his unwavering determination allowed him to successfully navigate both pursuits. His crucial contribution to the USA's historic performance at the T20 World Cup 2024 underscored his steadfast dedication.
