Who Is Aarti Ahlawat? Virender Sehwag’s Wife Who Faced Legal Battles And Built A Business Empire
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, adding fuel to ongoing rumours of their divorce. On Thursday, January 23, several media outlets reported that the couple, who have been married for 20 years, might be heading toward separation. It has also been alleged that the two have been living apart for over a year.
20 Years of Marriage and Speculations of Separation

Virender Sehwag and Aarti Ahlawat tied the knot in 2004 in a grand ceremony hosted at the residence of late Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Despite being a strong family unit for two decades, recent reports suggest that their relationship is under strain. Social media users have pointed out Aarti's absence from Sehwag's photos and posts in recent months, intensifying speculation about their separation. The couple has yet to make any official statement about their relationship status.
Who Is Aarti Ahlawat?
Aarti Ahlawat, born on December 16, 1980, in New Delhi, comes from a well-educated and professional family. Her father, Suraj Singh Ahlawat, was an advocate. Aarti pursued her education at Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan before completing a diploma in Computer Science at Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
Professionally, Aarti is a successful businesswoman and the director of four companies: Eventura Creations Private Limited, AVS Healthcare Private Limited, ASV Event Management Private Limited, and Smgk Agro Impex Private Limited. However, in 2019, she faced a significant setback when her business partners allegedly forged her signature to secure a ₹4.5 crore loan, leading her to take legal action.
A Love Story That Began in Childhood
Sehwag and Aarti's relationship goes back to their childhood. They first met at a wedding when Sehwag was seven and Aarti was five. The cricketer proposed to her at the age of 21 after knowing her for 14 years. Initially, their families resisted the match, but the couple eventually won their approval and got married. Together, they have two sons, Aryavir (born 2007) and Vedant (born 2010).
Despite the ongoing rumours, neither Sehwag nor Aarti has commented on their alleged separation. Fans continue to speculate as the couple's social media activity hints at trouble in paradise. While the cricketing legend's professional achievements remain celebrated, his personal life has now become a topic of widespread discussion.
For now, the public and fans alike will have to wait for an official statement to clarify the situation.
