However, it is now being reported that Virat Kohli has not attended the Ram Temple inauguration. Well, he is currently in Hyderabad, preparing for the England test series, according to CricBuzz.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has pulled out of the first two Tests against England due to personal reasons, the BCCI said on Monday.

"Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention," the BCCI stated in a media release.

India is all set to clash with England in a five-match test series. The first match will be played from 25 January.

Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were invited to the event by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. Some unconfirmed reports had claimed that the BCCI had given him permission to attend the Ram Mandir 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony in Ayodhya.

In the last few hours, there have been rumours which claimed that Kohli has attended the event. It was said that Anushka Sharma had skipped the event due to pregnancy.

Now, it has turned out to be baseless rumours.

Apart from Kohli, Rohit Sharma has also skipped the event. On the other hand, cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, and Venkatesh Prasad graced the occasion.

Reports claim that Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Virendra Sehwag, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rahul Dravid were also invited to the event.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The consecration ceremony was held between 12.20 and 1 pm today.

Addressing a gathering after the consecration of an idol of Ram Lalla in the Ram temple, Prime Minister Modi said, "Today, our Ram has arrived. After a long wait for ages, our Ram has arrived."
