What Is Concussion Sub? Know Why Alastair Cook Called Harshit Rana Replacing Shivam Dube A Puzzle Move
India's debutant star Harshit Rana created history during India vs England 4th T20i as he took the field in place of Shivam Dube as a concussion player and turned the table around in favour of Men in Blue. Harshit came in as a substitute for the injured Dube after a speedy delivery hit him on the head in the final over of India's innings.
Harshit Rana pouched a crucial catch of English captain Jos Butler and picked up 3 wickets in the Pune T20 for only 33 runs in his 4 overs.

However, Harshit Rana's induction in playing XI is now surrounded by controversies. In the post-match show, former English captain and star batter Alastair Cook called it a 'no sense' call highlighting how can a bowler replace a batter.
"The concussion sub made such a big impact on the game. Replacing a big-hitting batting all-rounder, who has bowled one over in the IPL, with a guy who can't bat and bowls heavy seam makes no sense to me whatsoever," Cook told TNT Sports.
He said that India should have called in Washington Sundar, an all-rounder, in place of a hard-hitting batter, instead, they called a man who doesn't bat at all.
"England should have still won the game and would have probably preferred a seamer to a spinner but I don't understand it. They had Washington Sundar who got replaced because they wanted more batting in the side."
"It seems absolute madness that you are allowed to do it, but credit to the lad on debut, but he shouldn't be allowed to play there," said Cook.
WHAT IS CONCUSSION SUB?
According to the ICC rules, if a player gets injured during the play and medical team doesn't allow him/her to continue playing, then a concussion replacement may be authorised.
