WATCH | 'Unemployed' Rahul Dravid At His Humorous Best As He Seeks 'Job Offers', Leaves All In Splits

The T20 World Cup 2024 final marked the end of Rahul Dravid's tenure as the Indian cricket team coach. In a fitting farewell, his team defeated South Africa to clinch the title after 17 years.

Following the victory, Dravid displayed a humorous side during a candid chat with reporters, closely resembling his famous "Indiranagar ka gunda" persona and joking about the "unemployment" that awaits him.

"Yeah, I will be. I mean, next week life will be same for me. I'll be unemployed, that'll be the only difference," said Dravid when a reporter asked him if he'll be able to move on from the historic victory.

In his humorous best, the former Indian skipper even asked the journalists if they had any job offers for him, leaving them in splits.

Dravid had previously stated he would not be extending his contract, making this his last assignment as coach.

The search for his successor is already in progress, with former India batter Gautam Gambhir emerging as a leading candidate. While no official confirmation has been made, media reports indicate that Gambhir is likely to take over the role.

"I tried to persuade him to stay, but there are obviously various factors he needs to consider. Nevertheless, I cherished the time spent with him," Rohit Sharma was earlier not6ed as saying.

"He was my first international captain when I entered the scene in Ireland. I also witnessed his captaincy during my early Test matches. He's been a significant role model for us," the Indian skipper added.
