Watch | Surya Kumar Yadav's Match-Winning Catch That Turned Things In India's Favor
There's a famous saying: Catches Win Matches! India's power hitter Surya Kumar Yadav on Saturday proved it right by pouching a stunning catch at the boundary line that turned things in India's favor when South Africa was looking strong and was close to win the title clash at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
On the first ball of the final over of the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup final 2024, Surya Kumar Yadav caught David Miller's high hit, showing great presence of mind. He first pouched the ball but noticing that he might lose balance, Surya threw the ball in the air, stepped outside the boundary line, and immediately came back to grab the ball inside the play area.

The situation got even tougher for South Africa after David Miller's wicket as Proteas needed 16 runs in the last 5 balls. Playing big shots under such a tight situation was not an easy task for the lower-order batters.
Kagiso Rabada was the next man to join, who edged the fifth delivery to get a boundary. The equation then came down to 12 off 4 balls. However, Hardik Pandya held his nerve and allowed only 4 runs in the rest of the over, resulting in India's second T20 World Cup victory.
