Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan celebrated Afghanistan's odds-defying victory against Sri Lanka in the ongoing World Cup with Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh in style. Afghanistan secured a remarkable 7-wicket victory against Sri Lanka at Pune's MCA Stadium on Monday, October 30.

Irfan Pathan, known for his dancing prowess as much as his cricketing skills, once again showcased his dance moves in the Star Sports studios, accompanied by Harbhajan Singh. He shared a celebratory dance video on his Instagram account, extending congratulations to the Afghanistan team for their stunning win.

Pathan praised the Afghan team's accomplishment, acknowledging their third victory in the tournament. In his Instagram post, he lauded Afghanistan for beating three former world champions and for their remarkable performance in the World Cup 2023.

With this win, Afghanistan climbed to the fifth position in the World Cup 2023 points table, firmly positioning themselves in the race for the semi-finals. The Afghans have notched up victories against defending champions England, 1992 champions Pakistan, and 1996 winners Sri Lanka, a testament to their growing prowess on the international cricket stage.

In his post on the social media platform 'X,' Pathan commended Afghanistan's control throughout the match, emphasizing their proficiency in playing and bowling spin in the Indian conditions, which played a crucial role in their victory. Afghanistan successfully chased down Sri Lanka's total of 242 runs with 7 wickets and 20 balls to spare.

Irfan Pathan had earlier joined Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan for a dance celebration after their win against Pakistan. In that match, Afghanistan had defeated their neighbors Pakistan by 8 wickets at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Following their victory over Sri Lanka, Afghanistan will now shift their focus to the Netherlands. The two teams are scheduled to face each other at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on November 3, as Afghanistan continues their pursuit of further success in the World Cup.
