Virat Kohli Trolled For Batting Slow In IPL Final vs PBKS: Trying To Impress For England Tour, Says Ian Bishop
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)'s star batter Virat Kohli faced trolling on social media after he played a slow knock against Punjab Kings in the IPL2025 finals, held at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium. Virat Kohli fans were expecting big from their favourite batter, but he couldn't deliver his usual brilliance under pressure this time. He adopted a cautious strategy, scoring 43 runs off 35 balls before being dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai.
The match saw Punjab Kings' captain Shreyas Iyer winning the toss and opting to field first. Both teams entered the final without making any changes to their line-ups from previous matches. With both RCB and PBKS aiming for their first IPL title, the league's 18th edition promised a new champion.

Virat Kohli's Dismissal
Kohli's dismissal was a result of a short delivery that rose sharply off the pitch. Attempting a pull shot, he only managed to top-edge the ball. With no fielder positioned at mid-wicket, Omarzai chased after it, slightly colliding with the non-striker but recovering quickly to make an impressive diving catch.
After his dismissal, Kohli walked back visibly disappointed, aware that he had missed an opportunity to play a significant innings on such an important occasion. His early departure led to some trolling online as fans expressed their disappointment.
