Virat Kohli To Break Inzamam-ul-Haq And Javed Miandad's Record In Cape Town Test

Virat Kohli, the man who recently achieved the feat to surpass Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's record of scoring a half-century of centuries, is now set to hit another milestone. But this time, Kohli would be breaking two Pakistani legends', Inzamam-ul-Haq and Javed Miandad, record. It won't be wrong to say that Virat Kohli and cricket records go hand in hand. The Delhi boy has proved the metal of his batting technique, power-hitting, and mental fitness on numerous occasions.

So far, Virat Kohli has scored 8790 runs studded with 29 centuries and 30 half-centuries in 112 Tests. He has an impressive batting average of 49.38 in the red ball format. Indian cricketer now needs only 40 and 42 runs to go past Inzamam-ul-Haq and Javed Miandad's records. Inzamam scored 8830 in 120 Tests, while Miandad notched 8832 runs in 124 matches he played for Pakistan.

After losing the Centurion Test, Team India is now eye to avenge the heartbreaking defeat and level the series by emerging victorious at Cape Town's Newlands cricket stadium. The second test of the two-match series is slated from January 3 to 7.

Notably, Team India never won a test series in the Rainbow Nation, and this continues to be an unachievable feat after Team India lost the series opener. However, Rohit Sharma and his men would like to end the tour on a winning note and share the series honors with South Africa.

English batsman Joe Root (11416 runs) and Australia's Steve Smith (9472 runs) have already crossed Inzamam and Miandad's records, and now Kohli is likely to notch this record too.

David Warner and Kane Willaimson are behind Virat Kohli's 8790 score with 8695 and 8263 runs, respectively.
