Virat Kohli’s First Video Call Post-Match Sparks Speculation—Was He Talking to Anushka Or ...? Fans Debate On!

Following India's six-wicket triumph over Pakistan in the current Champions Trophy, former captain Virat Kohli was spotted making a video call, and fans speculate that he was in conversation with his family, including his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Having smashed his 51st ODI century, Kohli was captured on camera talking on the phone, sparking speculation among fans that he was connecting with Anushka and their children, Vamika and Akaay.

"Virat Kohli talking with his family on the video call (sic)," an X (formely Twitter) user wrote while sharing pictures of the 36-year-old cricketer. Another fan commented, "After match, Virat talk with Anushka Bhabhi (sic)." One user even described it as a "sweet family moment."

However, another user claimed that Kohli's first call was actually to his childhood coach, emphasizing his respect for his roots.

Moments after sealing the win with a boundary, Kohli was also seen kissing his wedding ring, which he wears on a chain around his neck. He later gave a thumbs-up to the camera, which many believe was meant for Anushka.

Anushka later shared the same photo on her Instagram story, celebrating Kohli's century and India's triumph. While she often accompanies him on tours, she was absent from this match.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot on December 11, 2017.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Vamika, on January 11, 2021. They remained discreet about their second pregnancy and, on February 15, 2024, announced the birth of their son, Akaay.

In the match against Pakistan, Kohli showcased his brilliance by scoring a century in 111 balls, hitting seven fours. His knock came at a strike rate of 90.09.

Across 299 ODIs, Kohli has amassed 14,085 runs at an impressive average of 58.20, with 51 centuries and 73 half-centuries. His highest individual score remains 183.

This century marks Kohli's sixth in ICC ODI tournaments and his first in the ICC Champions Trophy. Additionally, he has now equaled Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most fifty-plus scores (23) in ICC ODI events.
