Virat Kohli Hugs R Ashwin In Dressing Room After Retirement News During IND vs AUS 3rd Test, Video Viral
The third Test between India and Australia in Brisbane was brought to an abrupt halt due to heavy rain, but the spotlight shifted to an emotional moment in the Indian dressing room. Virat Kohli was seen sharing a heartfelt hug with India's second-highest Test wicket-taker, R Ashwin, a video of which quickly went viral on social media.
Taking to Twitter, Kohli also wrote,''I've played with you for 14 years and when you told me today you're retiring, it made me a bit emotional and the flashbacks of all those years playing together came to me. I've enjoyed every bit of the journey with you ash, your skill and match winning contributions to Indian cricket are second to none and you will always and always be remembered as a legend of Indian cricket. Wish you nothing but the best in your life with your family and everything else that it unfolds for you. With massive respect and lots of love to you and your close ones. Thanks for everything buddy.❤️🇮🇳 .''

Speculation about Ashwin's retirement began to circulate shortly after, and moments later, the news was confirmed when the Tamil Nadu spinner joined skipper Rohit Sharma for a press conference.
Ashwin's illustrious career is defined by staggering numbers and invaluable contributions to Indian cricket. Over 106 Test matches, he claimed 537 wickets, including 37 five-wicket hauls, and scored 3,503 runs. These achievements make him not only one of India's finest all-rounders but also a key player in international cricket history.
Globally, Ashwin stands as the seventh-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket and the second-highest for India, trailing only the legendary Anil Kumble (619 wickets). Additionally, he holds the second-most five-wicket hauls in Tests, surpassed only by Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (67).
Footage from the dressing room captured Kohli and Ashwin engaged in what seemed to be a deep, heartfelt conversation before Kohli embraced the spinner in an emotional farewell gesture. The moment underscored the camaraderie and respect shared between the two players.
Ashwin's retirement leaves an enormous void in the Indian cricket team. Known for his ability to deliver in critical moments, he was a dependable force with both ball and bat. His tally of 3,503 Test runs highlights his value as a lower-order batsman, often rescuing India in challenging situations.
