Virat Kohli, who stepped away from T20 internationals after India's victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, celebrated the team's latest achievement and praised the squad for continuing India's winning legacy in the format. In the message, Virat Kohli highlighted the fearless brand of cricket played by the Indian side throughout the tournament and applauded the team for maintaining composure during high-pressure moments. India's victory in Ahmedabad came after a dominant performance in the final. The batting unit set the tone by posting a huge total of 255/5, putting the New Zealand bowlers under pressure from the very beginning.

The innings was led by Sanju Samson, who smashed a superb 89 off 46 balls. His outstanding form throughout the tournament earned him the Player of the Tournament award after finishing with 321 runs across five innings.
