Suryakumar Yadav To Lead Indian Team In T20 Series Against Aus: How Netizens React?

Suryakumar Yadav has been given the responsibility of leading the Indian team in the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia, which begins on November 23 at Visakhapatnam.

Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as vice-captain for the series against the newly-crowned ODI champions, as the hosts only picked three players from the recent World Cup squad - Prasidh Krishna, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar himself.

Following an exhaustive campaign in the recent ODI World Cup, India predictably opted not to include numerous senior players in the 15-member squad. Only Suryakumar, pacer Prasidh Krishna, and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan have been selected for the T20 series.

The selectors deemed that these three players haven't participated in sufficient cricket to necessitate workload management at this juncture.

Axar Patel has also found a place in the squad after he missed the quadrennial big bash with a left quadriceps injury.

However, the left-arm spinner returned to competitive cricket last month for Gujarat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he played two matches against Punjab and Railways.
