Suryakumar Yadav Lauds PM Narendra Modi's Supporting Gesture

Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the Indian Cricket Team for the five-match T20 series against Australia, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for backing the side after India lost to Australia in the World Cup final.

Speaking about his interaction and the supporting gesture the Prime Minister displayed during and after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the cricketer remarked that PM Modi really supported and motivated the team.

PM Modi had met captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, and others after the World Cup final.

Before Yadav, his teammates Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami too had lauded the Prime Minister for meeting the players in the Indian dressing room and his motivating gesture through their posts on micro-blogging site X (formerly known as Twitter).

Recalling the scene after the World Cup loss, Suryakumar Yadav said the entire team was in the dressing room when the Prime Minister came and met everyone. He motivated players stating never to lose hope. It's a sport and winning and losing is a part of it, ups and downs do come, Suryakumar quoted PM Modi.

It was really an engaging and motivating 5-minute meet with the Prime Minister, he further added. It was a very big thing for all the players as the country's leader came to the dressing room especially to meet them.

Meanwhile, Men in Blue registered a thrilling last-ball victory against Australia by 2-wickets in the first T20 at Vishakhapatnam, taking the lead in the series. The second match will be played at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, November 26.

The remaining three matches have been scheduled to be played at Guwahati on November 28, Bengaluru on December 1, and Raipur on December 3.
