Something Is Special In You! Virat Kohli Presents ODI Cap To Riyan Parag, Wishes Luck To Rajasthan Royals Star

Ace batter and former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, who is a role model to millions of budding cricketers, on Wednesday, presented the debutant's cap to young gun Riyan Parag. Riyan Parag is a batting all-rounder, who plays for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals and is captain of Assam State at the domestic level.

The young cricketer has already proved his mettle in the shorter format of the game, and today, Virat Kohli welcomed him to ODI cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a heart-touching video on the micro-blogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, in which, Virat Kohli presented India Cap to Riyan Parag in the presence of the rest of his teammates.

During the ceremony before India's third and series decider encounter against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli praised the debutant cricketer saying there is something special in him that the selectors picked him and gave him the opportunity to present India at the international level.

"Riyan firstly congratulations for getting the first game for India. In today's cricket we all know, apart from performances, people who are responsible for your guys getting selected, they are watching you, they see something special in you. Having spoken to Captain Rohit, selections, and everyone, they see something special in you. You have the ability to become a match winner for India. I know you have that belief. And we all have that belief in you, and no better time to step in today to start your international career," Virat Kohli said to Riyan Parag.

"With an impactful presence on the field with bat, ball, and fielding as well, I wish you all the best cap 256," Virat Kohli added before putting the India cap on his head. Support staff and team members congratulated and welcomed Riyan Parag to the national side with a round of applause.
