Shikhar Dhawan Set To Marry Mithali Raj? Here's What Cricketer Says

Veteran Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has given his first response to the rumours linking him up with former India women's team captain Mithali Raj.

The Punjab Kings captain revealed that he once heard the rumour that he was marrying former India women's team captain Mithali Raj. For the southpaw, this was one of the most bizarre rumours he had heard about himself.

"I heard that I was getting married to Mithali Raj," the opening batter said in show on Jio Cinema, Dhawan Karenge.

Shikhar Dhawan, hailed as one of India's finest openers, has had his personal struggles laid bare for all to see. His journey has been marked by heartbreak and upheaval, culminating in a bitter divorce from Ayesha Mukherjee last year, mutually agreed upon.

In October 2023, the Family Court of Delhi granted the Indian cricketer a divorce, citing cruelty as the primary cause, ending their 11-year union. Reports indicated that Dhawan and Ayesha had ceased living as spouses since August 8, 2020.

Despite this, Dhawan has yet to gain custody of his son Zoravar, who resides in Melbourne with his mother, is an Australian citizen. Dhawan, known for his ever-smiling demeanour, often shares how deeply he misses his son amidst the emotional turmoil.

The Indian batsman is currently out of the picture in international cricket. His participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was also curtailed due to injury concerns. Despite the recent setbacks in his career, particularly over the past few years, the seasoned opener continues to approach life with optimism.
