Rohit Sharma's Bad Performance Is A Big Reason To Worry

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who was away from T20 cricket for almost 14 months, failed to impress and make an impactful comeback against Afghanistan in the three-match series. Team India has bagged the series after winning the first two matches convincingly but skipper Rohit's form can be a big reason to worry for the Indian team and fans ahead of the start of the T20 World Cup slated for June this year.

In both the matches against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma could not even open his account. In the first match, he got run out after Shubhman Gill did not respond to his call, and in the second game, he was clean-bowled trying to play a poor cross-batted shot on the first ball he was facing.

Rohit's shot selection was questioned by former cricketer Aakash Chopra. In a YouTube video, Chopra said, "It was extremely surprising the way Rohit got out. He was playing just his first ball. He doesn't play such shots. The ball went and hit his stumps. He got run out in the last match and was bowled for zero in this match. He hasn't scored a single run in this series thus far."

"Run-out was not his mistake but the shot selection definitely was. There is no doubt about Rohit Sharma's form and ability. However, he will have to be in form in the IPL and I feel he will bat like this only. We need 38-40, the runs he was scoring in the ODI World Cup, from his bat," Chopra added.

However, the team is happy with a decent comeback of Virat Kohli who notched quick 29 runs off 16 balls striking over 181. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel also left their impressions in the minds of selectors for the upcoming World Cup with stunning and match-winning performances.
