Rohit Sharma To Lead Mumbai Indians? Speculations Spark After Cricketer Spotted With MI Owner Akash Ambani

Former Mumbai Indians skipper and ace batter Rohit Sharma was spotted with IPL franchise owner Akash Ambani in a car near the Wankhede Stadium, claims a video doing round the internet. The video shows Rohit Sharma sitting in the passenger seat, however, face of the person driving the car was not clearly visible but his physical features were similar to Akash Ambani.

Soon after Rohit Sharma's video went viral, speculations on social media sparked that Mumbai Team may announce a big change soon and give reigns of the team again to the senior cricketer. An MI fan said the way Mumbai Team is playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), team management needs to take some tough calls. It was suggested that Hardik Pandya should make way for Rohit Sharma, as the team hasn't delivered well under his captaincy yet.

Millions of cricket fans opposed Mumbai Indians team management's decision to appoint Hardik Pandya as new skipper in place of five-time winner Rohit Sharma. Hardik, who joined MI in a sensational Rs 15 crore trade from Gujarat Titans, had purportedly kept a condition of donning the captain's hat as he led Titans in 2022 and 2023 editions, which the franchise owners eventually accepted. The Mumbai team management later clarified that the decision was made aiming future of the team, if Rohit bids adieu to cricket after the T20 World Cup.

Since the change in MI captaincy, it was noticed that everything was not okay between Rohit Shama and Hardik Pandya. However, Rohit never reacted to any such claim, but his fans left no chance to boo Hardik Pandya.
