Rohit Sharma Terms T20 World Cup Meeting Reports Focusing on Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli 'Fake'

Days after reports claiming Rohit Sharma had a key meeting with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials, head coach Rahul Dravid, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar to talk about the upcoming T20 World Cup surfaced online, the Indian captain junked all the rumors on Thursday. The false reports stated that Rohit Sharma highlighted two points, Hardik Pandya's fitness and ability to bowl regularly, And whether Virat Kohli should open the innings instead of playing at number 3, in a two-hour-long meeting.

Terming all such reports "fake", Rohit Sharma urged fans to believe words and statements coming from BCCI officials only.

Keeping his side, Rohit Sharma said he hasn't met anyone anyone in recent days. Ajit Agarkar would be playing golf somewhere in Dubai, and Rahul Dravid is spending time with his family in Bengaluru. There has been no official meeting in recent times.

"We haven't met, to be honest. I think in today's day and age, unless you hear it from either myself or Rahul himself or Ajit himself or someone from BCCI coming and talking in front of the camera, everything is fake," the Indian captain said.

The false reports doing round the internet are purportedly said to add fuel to the fight between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, which sparked after the all-rounder took over the reins of the Mumbai Indians franchise team.

Since then fans have been divided and criticising Mumbai Indian team management's decision to replace the five-times IPL winning captain.
