Rohit Sharma Looks Forward To Future Challenges
Ahead of the Centurion Test, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma addressed the media for the first time after the heartbreaking loss in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Rohit, who was away from the game for almost a month, will step back on the field leaving behind the scars of defeat against Australia in the finals. In the pre-match conference, Rohit Sharma answered questions related to the team and personal preparedness for the Proteas challenge.
Answering how tough it was to move on, the Indian captain said there's so much cricket happening these days, so a player has to move on. Though it was tough and took time, the batter said he is looking forward to new challenges now.

"The way we played, you expect to go an inch further. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it. That was the hard part. You saw how we managed to play the 10 games. We didn't do certain things well in the final and that's why we lost. It is hard but there's so much happening in life, so much cricket, you've got to find the strength. It took me time to come out but you've got to move on," he said.
"We got a lot of encouragement from the outside world and that motivated me personally to get up," Rohit added.
Clearing the air on his plans ahead, sharma said, "Whatever is in front of me, I look forward to play."
Team India is scheduled to play two tests on the tour of South Africa after the recently concluded T20 and ODI series. India vs South Africa first test match will be held at the SuperSport Park in Centurion from Tuesday, December 26.
Team India has never won a test series against South Africa in South Africa, and it will be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma and co. can re-write the history or not.
