Rishabh Pant's Big Statement On Yashasvi Jaiswal

Days after Yashasvi Jaiswal won the ICC Men's Player of the Month for February 2024, India's star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant on Thursday praised the other left-hander for his free-style batting and fearless batting approach. Lauding Jaiswal, Pant said the 22-year-old stays in the present and doesn't think about the future much.

He expressed his happiness and praised the youngsters, who are continuously performing with their heads down. This is a big thing and they have the potential to go a long way.

"Really amazing. The way all the youngsters are stepping up. I think it's been really amazing because, you know, over a period of time, some new people come to the team. Every time you won't see them performing, but when they perform and keep their heads (down)... Like not thinking too much... And Jaiswal is someone who likes keeping his head down and just keeps doing what he is doing. And I think if he keeps on doing that, then there's a long way to go," Rishabh Pant said in a podcast.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played some heroic innings that powered team India to bag the series against England in a dominating manner. The left-hander scored 712 runs studded with two double centuries and three fifties in nine innings of five test matches. Jaiswal's highest was an unbeaten 214 runs off 234 balls against experienced English bowling lineup at Rajkot. He scored 12 towering sixes and 14 rolling boundaries, which is also his career's best.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant, who has been away from cricket since his road accident in December 2022, is all set to make a comeback. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently gave Rishabh Pant fitness clearance. The decision was taken by the BCCI medical team, who announced that Pant had recovered completely after 14 months of rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
