Can Smriti Mandhana's RCB Do What Virat Kohli's Team Couldn't, Win A Trophy For Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB...RCB...RCB...! The chants in favor of Royal Challengers Bangalore electrified the atmosphere at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday night after the Smriti Mandhana team entered the finals of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2024) in a thrilling manner. RCB defended a low total of 135 against defending champions Mumbai Indians by 5 runs.
Though it was a collective team effort, but for a powerful knock of 66 off 50 balls studded with 8 boundaries, and a six, and a wicket, Ellyse Perry was named as player of the match in the crucial eliminator.

The Bangalore side will now meet Delhi Capitals in the finals on Sunday, March 17. The RCB vs DC finals will start at 7:30 pm, where the home side is likely to have the benefit of playing at the home ground. DC faced a defeat in the finals last and would try to cross the winning line this time, while RCB has entered the finals for the first time, and would give their best to create history.
If this happened, then Smriti Mandhana's side would do what even Virat Kohli's team could not, win a cup for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the last 16 seasons of India Premier League (IPL), RCB has reached the finals thrice in 2009, 2011, and 2016, but was not fortunate enough to lift the cup. While, the Women's RCB team, which made it to the finals in the second edition of WPL, has a chance to win the cup this time.
In the inaugural season of WPL, the RCB had ended its run at the fourth spot, but with several changes and hard work, Smriti Mandhana and her team booked a berth for the playoff's first and now finals in WPL 2024.
It won't be wrong to say that the Women's Premier League 2024 has set the cricketing standards really high this season, and RCB fans are now praying and hoping that their team will clinch the cup.
