R Ashwin's Wife Prithi Narayanan's Reacts To Ace Cricketer's Sudden Retirement

Ravichandran Ashwin, a renowned cricketer, has always valued his family deeply. His wife, Prithi Narayanan, and their two daughters have been central to his life. As Ashwin decided to retire from international cricket with two Tests remaining in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Prithi shared an emotional post reflecting on witnessing his remarkable career up close.

"It has been a blurry two days for me. I have been thinking about what I can say.. Do I put this down as a tribute to my all time favorite cricketer? Maybe I'll just take the partner angle? Or maybe a love letter from a fan girl? I guess this is a little bit of all of it," Prithi Narayanan wrote in an Instagram post.

Reflecting on Memorable Moments

Prithi recalled various moments from their 13-14 years together. She mentioned the big victories, Man of the Series awards, and quiet times after intense matches. The sound of the shower running longer than usual and Ashwin's habit of scribbling thoughts were vivid memories for her.

She also described how they celebrated joyous occasions like the CT final win and the Gabba victory. There were also times when they sat silently or felt heartbroken. These experiences shaped their journey together.

A Journey of Passion and Dedication

Prithi expressed how much she learned from Ashwin's dedication to cricket. She admired his passion, hard work, and discipline, which were crucial for staying relevant in the sport. Despite accolades and records, constant skill sharpening was essential for him.

"Dear Ashwin, from not knowing how to put a kit bag together to following you to stadiums all over the world, rooting for you, watching you and learning from you, it has been an absolute pleasure. The world you introduced me to gave me the privilege to watch and enjoy a sport that I love from close quarters," she wrote.

Embracing New Beginnings

As Ashwin concludes his international career, Prithi encouraged him to embrace life beyond cricket. She urged him to live freely, enjoy family time, share memes, and even create new bowling variations. Her message was one of support as he transitions into this new phase.

"As you end your wonderful international run, I only want to tell you that it's all good.It is all going to be good.It is time to set the burden of being you down. Live life on your terms, make space for those extra calories, make time for your family, make time to do absolutely nothing," she added.
