Mhatre's effort was not just crucial in the context of the game, but also historic. At 18 years and 261 days, he became the youngest player to score a fifty at Chepauk. He also stitched together a 95-run partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who chipped in with 28, as CSK looked well on course for a massive total.
