Mohammed Siraj, Asha Bhosle's Granddaughter Zanai Bhosle Clear 'Dating' Rumours: 'Mere Pyaare Bhai', 'Behna'

A recent photo of Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj with Asha Bhosle's granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, went viral on social media.

Zanai, a talented young singer known for her soulful voice, posted a series of pictures on Instagram from her 23rd birthday. Among them, one featured Siraj, where the two were seen sharing a laugh. The image quickly spread online, with many fans speculating that the pair were in a romantic relationship.

Before the rumours could escalate, Zanai addressed the situation, clarifying her relationship with Siraj. She referred to him as "Mere pyaare bhai" (my dear brother) in an Instagram story. Siraj also responded by re-sharing the post and calling her "behna" (sister).

Currently, Siraj is not part of the Indian cricket team following a lacklustre performance in the Test series against Australia. He has not been selected for India's ongoing white-ball series against England or the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Former India pacer Irfan Pathan raised concerns over the absence of a backup pace-bowler for the Champions Trophy squad, suggesting that Siraj could have been a suitable option, given the uncertainty over Jasprit Bumrah's fitness.

Bumrah, who is recovering from injury, is yet to be confirmed for the ICC event.

"You need a backup pacer. Siraj could have been a good option. In Dubai, playing with four spinners isn't viable. With Bumrah and Shami returning from injuries, it won't be easy for them straight away," Pathan said at a promotional event, as quoted by PTI.

"A pacer like Siraj would have filled that gap. That said, we hope the selectors' choices perform well, and we should back them," he added.
