Mohammed Shami Sends A Message To Team India Selectors, Says Recovery Done, 100% Pain-Free Now

A day after Team India faced a humiliating defeat in the Bengaluru test vs New Zealand, India's pace sensation Mohammed Shami, who was resting following his ankle injury, has sent a message to selectors to consider his comeback. Mohammed Shami, who was expecting a return in the series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, but was not named, said, he is all fine now and bowling with a full run-up.

He added that he is completely pain-free and ready to play the marquee test series against Australia. Rohit Sharma and men are slated to take on Kangaroos next month.

"I am very happy with how I bowled yesterday. I was bowling from half run-up before that because I didn't want to take too much load. But yesterday, I decided to go full tilt, and I bowled at 100 percent," 34-year-old pacer said at an event.

"The result was good. I am 100 percent pain-free. Everyone has been wondering for a long time about whether I will make it for the Australia series but it is still some time away," he added.

Team India will play five tests vs Australia starting from November 22 in Perth.

The speedster added that he will participate in the ongoing Ranji Trophy for his state team Bengal and is eyeing his spot back in the national side. "The only thing on my mind is to ensure that I am fit and how strong I can be for the Australia series. I can see what kind of attack we need in Australia. I have to spend more time on the ground," he said.

"I want to play a couple of (Ranji) matches before I go," he added.

A few days ago, skipper Rohit Sharma said that calling back "undercooked" Shami would not be a right thing.

Mohammed Shami's ankle was twisted during the 2023 ODI World Cup and he played his last game against Australia on November 19.
