Make Virat Kohli RCB Captain Again: Harbhajan Singh Drops A Plan For Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is going through a tough time in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Faf du Plessis-led side has faced four consecutive defeats out of five matches, and the lone win RCB registered was against Punjab Kings. The reasons for RCB's back-to-back defeats were their inconsistent performance, lack of team efforts, and the missing killing spirit and on-field aggression even though the team has star players like Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, famous for locking horns and on-field fights.

In the last match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost against Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets, and the team's heartbreaking performance again highlighted the need for big changes. From the commentary box, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh also raised the flag suggesting Bengaluru team management think over the change of captaincy and give the reins of the team to Virat Kohli again.

Harbhajan Singh said if Virat Kohli becomes RCB's captain then there will be a fight at least. The latter knows how to get the best out of every player, which is the most important role of a captain. Faf du Plessis had been great, but now he has to deliver too. Many players are sitting on the bench, waiting for their chance. "RCB should make Virat Kohli captain now. The team will fight and win," said the great Indian spinner and member of the 2007 and 2011 World Cup-winning team.

Earlier, during a chat, du Plessis admitted that things have not been smooth and everyone is trying to do their best.

"It's important to give players a decent run, but we've found ourselves in a stage where we haven't done well, so it's time to make changes. The most important thing is to be consistent and that's where we've been disappointing. But we know we can turn this around," Faf du Plessis had said.
