IPL Mega Auction: Mumbai Indians Acquire Arjun Tendulkar
The Mumbai Indians brought uncapped pacer Arjun Tendulkar in the Indian Premiere League (IPL) mega auction on Monday.
Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, was reacquired at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. As far as his career in concerned, he has picked 37 wickets in 17 first-class matches, including a best of 5/25 and an average of 33.51 in the domestic cricket. His adaptability is reflected in his List A (21 wickets) and T20 (26 wickets) performances, with a standout T20 spell of 4/10.

Arjun also contributes with his batting and has scored a first-class century (120) and has a T20 strike rate of 122.98. Despite an injury setback during his initial IPL stint in 2021, he made his debut in 2023 for MI and continues to show promise as a budding all-rounder.
Mumbai Indians also acquired South African pacer Lizaad Williams for Rs 75 lakh and Vignesh Puthur for Rs 30 lakh, strengthening their squad depth.
Rajasthan Royals Focus on Young Talent
The Rajasthan Royals added Kunal Rathore and Ashok Sharma to their team, each secured at their base price of ₹30 lakh. The Royals continue their tradition of nurturing emerging talent as they aim for a balanced squad.
RCB Bolsters Bowling Attack
Royal Challengers Bengaluru made decisive moves to reinforce their bowling arsenal. They secured Abhinandan Singh for ₹30 lakh and South African pacer Lungi Ngidi for ₹1 crore. RCB also signed Mohit Rathee, the final player of the auction, at ₹30 lakh.
Gujarat Titans and Unsuccessful Bids
The Gujarat Titans added left-arm quick Kulwant Khejroliya, currently representing Madhya Pradesh, for ₹30 lakh. However, South African pacer Ottneil Baartman and Under-19 prospect Raj Limbani failed to attract any bids and went unsold.
However, capped Indian pacer Shivam Mavi, previously associated with Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants, did not find a team this season.
