IPL: AB De Villiers Is Happy With CSK's Move To Retain MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad
IPL 2024: Former South African batting legend AB De Villiers is happy with Chennai Super King's decision to retain MS Dhoni for the Indian Premier League 2024 edition. Chennai released eight players in the mini-auction but kept its core alive with MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the side.
AB de Villiers in a video on his YouTube channel said, "That man's (MS Dhoni) name on the retention list, makes me happy".

MS Dhoni led the Yellow Army to six title wins, but after last year's victory, suspense started to loom about whether the wicket-keeper batsman will continue to play or not. Last year, Dhoni was seen wearing extensive strapping on his knee throughout the tournament indicating issues with his fitness.
"There was a lot of talk about it in the last season about whether it was going to be his last season. He is moving on to 2024 to play another IPL season. With him, he is always full of surprises. Maybe he has got three more to go, who knows? But It is just great to see his name on there."
The team also made a smart pick of Shahrukh Khan, who was released by Punjab Kings.
"Shahrukh Khan is a strong player and is pretty consistent. I am very sure some of the teams will be very keen to get him over there. He hits the ball a long way as well. That's where CSK stands out. They are very good at picking up released players," said former Royal Challengers batting great.
