IPL 2025 To Restart From This Date: Sources
Following the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is hastening to kickstart the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), which had been put on hold due to the political unrest.
In light of the improved situation, the BCCI has directed all IPL franchises to reconvene their teams at their respective venues by Tuesday, May 13, said reports. This move signals a swift return to action, with the organization eagerly working on revised schedule to ensure the tournament resumes promptly.

The pause in the IPL was a direct result of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, causing a temporary suspension that lasted a week. However, with the announcement of a ceasefire between the two nations, the BCCI is keen to reestablish normalcy. The board's proactive approach is evident in its instructions to the franchises to update their foreign players on the new travel arrangements.
This includes the strategy to incorporate more double headers to adhere to the tournament's original completion timeline. The decision surrounding Punjab Kings' venue remains pending, confirmation as the board explores a neutral location for their matches.
IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal shared insights into the board's efforts to resume the league swiftly after the ceasefire was declared. "Ceasefire has just been announced. We now explore the possibility of resuming and concluding the IPL. If it is possible to conduct it immediately... We need to work out the venue dates and everything, and we would now be speaking to all the stakeholders, including team owners, broadcasters, and everyone involved and find a way as to how to move forward. Most importantly, we will have to consult with the government," Dhumal expressed to the Indian Express. His statement underscores the BCCI's commitment to consulting with governmental bodies and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the tournament's smooth resumption.
As anticipation builds for the IPL's return, fans and players alike are eager to see how the BCCI will navigate the challenges of rescheduling and selecting appropriate venues for the matches. The board's ability to adapt and promptly respond to the changing geopolitical landscape exemplifies its dedication to the sport and its fans. The upcoming announcement of the new IPL schedule is highly awaited, marking a significant step towards bringing cricket back to the forefront after a brief hiatus.
