IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Appoints Dinesh Karthik As Mentor And Batting Coach
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday announced a new role for their star wicketkeeper-batsman and finisher, Dinesh Karthik. Eyeing IPL 2025 trophy, RCB has named Dinesh Karthik as new mentor and batting coach for the side. After the conclusion of IPL 2024, Karthik had announced his retirement from the franchise cricket, but RCB bosses have given him a new role.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) unexpectedly made it to the semis this season winning 7 back to back games. At the start of IPL 2024, RCB faced consecutive defeats and was at the bottom of the points table till half league matches, however, the lone warrior Virat Kohli turned the table and fate of the team around and powered the side ending at the fourth position.

Dinesh Karthik's blitzkrieg innings too made the headlines and he performed the finisher's role with perfection. Karthik scored 796 runs in IPL's last 3 editions.
Making the big announcement on his micro-blogging site X, RCB said, "Welcome our keeper in every sense, Dinesh Karthik, back into RCB in an all new avatar. DK will be the Batting coach and Mentor of RCB Men's team!"
"You can take the man out of cricket but not cricket out of the man! Shower him with all the love, 12th Man Army!" RCB's post further reads.
Soon after the big announcement, RCB's post went viral and garnered thousand of likes and shares and the comment section is flooded with welcome greetings and best wishes for the new role with the franchise.
Reacting to his appointment as RCB's new Batting Coach and Batting Mentor, Dinesh Karthik said, "Coaching at a professional level is incredibly exciting for me and is something I'm truly passionate about as a new chapter in my life. Hopefully, the breadth of my experiences as a player can contribute to the development of the group and bring added value."
"I believe that cricket success hinges not only on technical proficiency but also on match intelligence and composure. I am eager to coach and mentor our batting group, helping them to not only refine their method but also to develop the keen match awareness needed to excel under pressure. It's also great that I can continue my association with RCB as the franchise continues to move from strength to strength," RCB's Dinesh Karthik said.
