IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya Surpasses Anil Kumble's This Record, Now Only Behind Shane Warne
Star Indian cricketer and Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has achieved another milestone in his glittering career. During the Mumbai vs Bengaluru IPL 2025 match, held at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Hardik Pandya surpassed former Indian captain Anil Kumble's record for getting the highest number of IPL wickets as a captain of a franchise team. He has 32 wickets in his kitty now, and number is expected to shoot up as he continues to play in the cash-rich league.
Hardik Pandya is now only behind Shane Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals in past and dismissed 57 batters as a captain.

One Man Show:
It was a one-man show by Hardik Pandya during the clash against RCB on Monday as he first showed magic with the ball, dismissing key players Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, and then quickfired 42 runs off just 15 balls.
However, Pandya's efforts went in vain as he couldn't avoid Mumbai Indians' defeat.

Hardik Pandya's Rising Star in IPL Captaincy
Since commencing his captaincy with the Gujarat Titans in 2022, Pandya has demonstrated exceptional leadership and cricketing skills, leading the team to a championship victory in their debut season. Although they reached the finals again in 2023, they were narrowly defeated by the Chennai Super Kings. Pandya's captaincy has been marked by significant contributions with both bat and ball, making him one of the most effective leaders in the league's history.
Despite the Mumbai Indians' current challenges in the IPL 2025, Pandya's individual performances have been a silver lining. The team, which has won the championship five times, is facing difficulties in finding rhythm this season, with four losses in five matches. The need for a cohesive team effort is apparent as they aim to bounce back and climb up the points table.
