IPL 2024: Travis Head Powers Sunrisers Hyderabad Score 287 Runs, Highest Ever Total In Indian Premier League
IPL 2024: Fans witnessed raining sixes and boundaries at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi Stadium during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match on Monday in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Pat Cummins-led Hyderabad team blasted RCB's bowling lineup and scored the highest total of 287 runs in the history of the tournament, breaking its won record of 277 runs made this season.
Faf du Plessis-led RCB bowlers looked helpless as opener Travis Head slammed a blitzkrieg hundred off 41 balls only. Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad also hit the ball hard and out of the park on most occasions.

Despite winning the toss on a batting track RCB skipper invited Hyderabad to bat first, but that turned out to be a wrong call. Head's heroic will be a nightmare to RCB bowlers for many seasons to come as it was studded with 8 towering sixers and 9 rolling boundaries. His strike rate was an astonishing 248.
For the unversed, Travis Head is the same Australian cricketer who demolished India's hopes in the 2023 World Cup finals by scoring a match-winning century.
Klassen too played an impressive inning laced with 7 sixers and 2 fours. While Samad and Markram contributed 37 and 32 runs.
After the RCB vs SRH match first inning, it looked like a cakewalk for the Hyderabad team who is currently in the fourth position in the IPL points table, while RCB is at the bottom, 9th spot in the ten-team tournament.
Pacers Reece Topley and Vijay Kumar Vyshak emerged as the worst bowlers of the night for RCB, who conceded 68 and 64 runs.
However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans would be praying to god and expecting skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Cricket fans also trolled RCB on social media platforms after the team conceded the highest-ever total score today.
