IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Set To Make These Big Changes

With only a few days left to Indian Premier League aka IPL 2024's start, some big changes are expected by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). According to the reports, SRH is likely to sack skipper Aiden Markram and hand over the reign of the team to Australia's World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins. The reports said team management is extremely impressed with Pat Cummins' leadership skills and believes that he can make the team win the title this season.

The reports added that Hyderabad is also likely to replace its bowling coach Dale Steyn, former South African speedster, with former New Zealand left-arm pacer James Franklin for the upcoming IPL 2024.

On a condition of anonymity, a top Sunrisers Hyderabad official told media that "SRH is in talks with him (Franklin) as Dale Steyn will not be available for this season."

James Franklin comes with a bag full of experience. He has also given services as a coach to the Durham Team in English county cricket and Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League team as an assistant coach. He played 31 Tests, 110 ODIs, and 38 T20Is for New Zealand.

Notably, this would be the second big change ahead of the IPL's start. Earlier, Mumbai Indians announced to replace its five-times title-winning captain Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indian added Hardik Pandya to its kitty for a whopping Rs 15 crore trade from Gujarat Titans in December's IPL mini-auction held at Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena. This will be Hardik's second stint with the Mumbai Indians and this time, the franchise owners have decided to make him the team lead.
