IPL 2024: Good News Arrives For Delhi Capitals As Rishabh Pant Gets Clean Chit From NCA

A piece of good news arrived on Sunday for the Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the Indian Premier League aka IPL 2024. According to the reports, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has got a green signal from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru over his fitness and now he can return to the cricket field. Fans were eagerly waiting for the left-hander as he is known for his pinch-hitting and skillful batting.

Rishabh Pant has been away from cricket since December 2022, when he met with a deadly road accident on the Dehradoon highway and luckily escaped. However, he received serious injuries and wasn't able to play cricket for almost one and a half years.

The 26-year-old cricketer was spotted with Team India and his IPL franchise team doing the promotional campaign.

However, there's no clarification from the Delhi Capitals about Pant's role in the team this season. It is yet to be discovered whether Rishabh Pant will don the captain's hat or not, or only play as a specialist batter.

Earlier, former cricketer and DC mentor Sourav Ganguly had said that the team is in no hurry for Pant's return and will wait for his 100% recovery instead of pushing him in excitement.

"He has done everything to get fit and that's the reason NCA will clear him. Let Rishabh get cleared on Mar 5 only then we'll talk about captaincy backups. We are taking a cautious approach with him because he has a very long career ahead of him. We don't want to push him in excitement. We will see how Rishabh reacts. He will be joining the camp once NCA gives him the clearance. We will see match by match. We can't predict," said Ganguly.
